Successful Accompong Primary Field Trip to Kingston

My two youngest children and I joined the local school on a field trip! 

Last Friday, the kids and I rode on the Accompong Maroon bus all the way to Kingston with a group of other parents and students.

We visited the Jamaica Defence Force Air Wing, Hope Gardens, and had a memorable stop at a local KFC on the way back home to St. Elizabeth. 

Observing from the back of the bus I saw sleeping pickney rolling through the hills on our community bus, and as we drove home I knew it was a day we’d remember for years to come. Ase.

The playground and field trip in Jamaica was a lot like the trips I'd supervise in the USA. Parents, children, destinations, complete.

Everyone was hungry after a long day of traveling and visiting Kingston. Three buses filled with Maroons stopped at KFC to fill our bellies. My son may or may not have made a bee-line to a Domino's to secure a full belly immediately (and he loves Pizza which we don't get to have often here). Two hours later, everyone was had their food and we headed home. Ase.

Jamaica Defense Force (JDF) rebuilds roofs while Jamaica Public Service (JPS) work to restore current (electricity) in Accompong Town, Cockpit Country Saint Elizabeth, JA

Our direct relief efforts now contained to Accompong Town, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica

JPS (Jamaica Public Service) is working hard to restore power to the hundreds of homes in the community currently without power.

Both of the churches, the community center, the musuem and the offices are still in need of restoration work and aftercare.

October 30 - Shipped Pallet and Drums to Kingston

One massive pallet packed with children’s clothes, toys, men’s winter clothes, and hundreds of stuffed animals, plus two barrels packed with rice, oats, canned meats, infant formula, diapers, and cooking oil. Departing Miami Tuesday; arrival expected Friday in Jamaica.
